Electrodeposition method was used for synthesisof CdO thin films. In the experiments, 0.02 M CdCl2and0.02 M Cd(NO3)2were used as to be an electrolyte invarious volumes. As concentration of Cd(NO3)2increased,film thicknesses and crystallite sizes decreased. Remark-able results were observed in the optical properties of theCdO thin films. As the volume of used Cd(NO3)2increased,the band gap also increased from the 2.30 eV to the 2.63proportionally. For the first time in the SEM image, thepyramidal form of CdO was observed.
