The theory based on size dependent non-local elasticity theory can serve as a more reasonable and proper approach in mechanical modeling of micro and nano sized components of nano mechanical devices. In this work, a nonlocal bar with equilateral triangle cross section in torsion is studied in a nanometer length scale. A suitable Prandtl stress function with nonlocality is also envisaged as a firm basis of the problem. By using the constitutive equation presented by Eringen in nonlocal elasticity, nonlocal equation of the bar with equilateral triangle cross section in torsion are derived and presented. The equation is solved to illustrate the importance of nonlocal effects and compared with the classical elasticity solution. The present research work thus reveals that the nonlocal parameter have significant effects on torsion response of the bar with equilateral triangle cross section.
