dc.description.abstractIn this study, aluminum-magnesium macrocomposite containing millimetre scale pure magnesium chips reinforcement was fabricated. The composite was extruded at 400 degrees C with an extrusion ratio of 9:1. Characterization of the macrocomposites was carried out by microscopic examinations, density and hardness measurements. This work demonstrated that not only the structural integrity between aluminum alloy and magnesium chips but also the possibility of the solid state recycling of magnesium chips can be provided.
