SÜRDÜRÜLEBİLİR ULAŞIM BAĞLAMINDA MİLLİ PARK ERİŞİLEBİLİRLİĞİ: BOTAN VADİSİ ÖRNEĞİNDE ÖZEL ARAÇ BAĞIMLILIĞININ NİCEL ANALİZİ

Abstract

Korunan doğal alanlara erişilebilirlik, sürdürülebilir turizm planlamasının önemli unsurlarından biri olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Özellikle milli parklar gibi hassas ekosistemlere sahip alanlarda ziyaretçilerin ulaşım biçimleri, hem çevresel etkiler hem de destinasyon yönetimi açısından belirleyici olmaktadır. Ulaşım tercihlerinin yapısı, karbon ayak izi, ziyaretçi yoğunluğu, alan yönetim stratejileri ve deneyim kalitesi üzerinde doğrudan rol oynamaktadır. Bu bağlamda ulaşımın sürdürülebilirlik ilkeleriyle uyumlu olması, doğal kaynakların korunması ve ziyaretçi erişiminin dengelenmesi bakımından kritik bir gerekliliktir. Bu çalışma, Botan Vadisi Milli Parkı’nda ziyaretçilerin ulaşım tercihlerinin niteliğini incelemekte, özel araç kullanımına yönelik bağımlılık düzeyini değerlendirmekte ve mevcut erişilebilirlik durumunu sürdürülebilir turizm perspektifinden analiz etmektedir. Araştırma nicel yöntemle tasarlanmış olup veri toplama süreci yüz yüze anket tekniği ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında toplam 202 katılımcıdan elde edilen veriler SPSS programı aracılığıyla analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, ziyaretçilerin büyük çoğunluğunun (%87,6) parka erişimde özel araç kullandığı, toplu taşıma olanaklarının ise hem ulaşılabilirlik hem kullanım oranı açısından oldukça sınırlı kaldığı görülmüştür. Ayrıca katılımcılar mevcut ulaşım sistemini orta düzeyde yeterli bulduklarını ifade ederken, ulaşım seçeneklerinin çeşitlendirilmesi, erişim kolaylığının artırılması ve park içi yönlendirmelerin geliştirilmesi gerektiğini belirtmiştir. Sonuçlar, milli parkın sürdürülebilir kullanım hedeflerine ulaşabilmesi için ulaşım altyapısının geliştirilmesi, toplu taşıma olanaklarının artırılması ve alternatif ulaşım modellerinin (yaya rotaları, bisiklet yolları, servis hatları vb.) planlanması gerektiğini göstermektedir. Bu doğrultuda yapılacak iyileştirmelerin hem ziyaretçi deneyimine hem de korunan alan yönetimine olumlu katkı sağlayacağı değerlendirilmektedir.

Accessibility to protected natural areas is considered a crucial element of sustainable tourism planning. In areas with sensitive ecosystems, such as national parks, visitors' modes of transportation are decisive in terms of both environmental impacts and destination management. The nature of transportation preferences directly influences carbon footprint, visitor density, area management strategies, and the quality of the experience. In this context, ensuring that transportation is compatible with sustainability principles is a critical requirement for balancing the protection of natural resources and visitor accessibility. This study examines the nature of visitors' transportation preferences in Botan Valley National Park, evaluates the level of dependence on private vehicle use, and analyzes the current accessibility situation from a sustainable tourism perspective. The research was designed using a quantitative method, and data collection was carried out through face-to-face surveys. Data obtained from a total of 202 participants were analyzed using the SPSS program. According to the findings, the vast majority of visitors (87.6%) use private vehicles to access the park, while public transportation options remain quite limited in terms of both accessibility and usage rate. Furthermore, while participants stated that they found the current transportation system to be moderately adequate, they indicated that transportation options should be diversified, accessibility should be improved, and signage within the park should be enhanced. The results show that in order for the national park to achieve its sustainable use goals, the transportation infrastructure needs to be improved, public transportation options should be increased, and alternative transportation models (pedestrian routes, bicycle paths, shuttle lines, etc.) should be planned. It is assessed that improvements in this direction will positively contribute to both the visitor experience and the management of the protected area.
