Sürdürülebilirlik kapsamında ekoturizmin Doğu Karadeniz Bölgesi’nde bölgesel kalkınmaya etkileri

Abstract

Çalışmada, Doğu Karadeniz Bölgesi’nde ekoturizmin sürdürülebilir çevre modeli çerçevesinde bölgesel kalkınmaya sağladığı ekonomik ve sosyal katkılar irdelenmiştir. Bu kapsamda, Artvin, Rize, Trabzon, Giresun, Ordu, Gümüşhane ve Bayburt illerinin ekoturizm potansiyeli değerlendirilmiştir. Yıllara göre resmi verileri esas alınarak geliştirilen hesaplama formülü ile ekoturizmin ziyaretçi sayısı, gelir ve istihdam üzerindeki muhtemel etkileri sayısal olarak ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, ekoturizmin Doğu Karadeniz Bölgesi için yalnızca çevresel değerlerin korunmasına katkı sağlayan bir turizm türü olmadığı, aynı zamanda yerel ekonomiyi canlandıran, istihdamı artıran, kırsal kalkınmayı destekleyen ve göçün azaltılmasına katkı sunabilecek stratejik bir kalkınma aracı olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Çalışmada Doğu Karadeniz illerinin doğal ve kültürel değerler doğrultusunda farklı gelişim modelleriyle önemli bir potansiyel taşıdığı tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen en önemli sonuç ise veri izleme altyapısının oluşturulması, destinasyon yönetiminin güçlendirilmesi, çevreye duyarlı altyapı yatırımlarının artırılması, yerel girişimciliğin desteklenmesi ve bütüncül turizm politikalarının uygulanmasına yönelik öneriler geliştirilmiştir.

The study examines the economic and social contributions of ecotourism to regional development in the Eastern Black Sea Region within the framework of a sustainable environmental model. In this context, the ecotourism potential of the provinces of Artvin, Rize, Trabzon, Giresun, Ordu, Gümüşhane, and Bayburt was evaluated. Based on official data by year, a calculation formula was developed to quantitatively determine the potential effects of ecotourism on visitor numbers, income, and employment. As a result, it was revealed that ecotourism is not only a form of tourism that contributes to the conservation of environmental values in the Eastern Black Sea Region, but also a strategic development tool that can stimulate the local economy, increase employment, support rural development, and contribute to reducing migration. The study found that the provinces of the Eastern Black Sea Region have significant potential for different development models based on their natural and cultural values. The most important conclusion of the study is the development of recommendations aimed at establishing a data monitoring infrastructure, strengthening destination management, increasing environmentally sensitive infrastructure investments, supporting local entrepreneurship, and implementing integrated tourism policies.
