Türkiye’de enflasyon ile işsizlik arasındaki uzun dönem ilişkisi: ARDL analizi

Abstract

Bu çalışma Türkiye örneklemi çerçevesinde 1988-2021 yılları arasını kapsayacak şekilde toplam işsizlik ile ekonomik büyüme, enflasyon, yatırım ve nüfus verileri arasındaki eş-bütünleşme ve uzun dönem ilişkisini ARDL yöntemi ile incelemektedir. Toplam işsizlik(UNT) bağımlı değişkeni 5’er yaş aralıklı 9 yaş grubunu(15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40- 44, 45-49, 50-54 ve 55-59) kapsamaktadır. Ekonomik büyüme(G), enflasyon(INF), yatırım(INV) ve nüfus(POP) değişkenleri bağımsız değişkenler olarak kullanılmıştır. Yapılan birim kök testi sonuçlarına göre serilerin her birinin eş-bütünleşme testinin şartını taşıdığı görülmüştür. İncelenen uzun dönem sonuçlarına göre ekonomik büyüme ile toplam işsizlik arasında pozitif, enflasyon ile toplam işsizlik arasında negatif bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yatırım değişkeni ile toplam işsizlik arasında (15-19, 20-24, 25-29 yaş grupları hariç) negatif bir ilişkinin olduğu, Nüfus ile toplam işsizlik arasında ise sadece (25- 29), (35-39) yaş gruplarında negatif bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

This study investigates the co-integration and long-run association between total unemployment and economic growth, inflation, investment and population by employing the ARDL method for the period 1988-2021 in Turkey. Total unemployment (UNT) dependent variable includes 9 age groups (15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54 and 55-59) with 5 age intervals. Economic growth (G), inflation (INF), investment (INV) and population (POP) variables are utilized as independent variables. According to the results of the unit root test, it is seen that each of the series meets the condition of the co-integration test. As to the long-run results, there exists a positive relationship between economic growth and total unemployment and a negative relationship between inflation and total unemployment. There is a negative relationship between the investment variable and total unemployment (except for the 15-19, 20-24, 25-29 age groups), whereas there is a negative relationship between population and total unemployment only for (25-29) and (35-39) age groups.
