2016-2017 MATCH ANALYSIS OF CORNER KICKS USED IN THE TURKCELL SUPER LEAGUE

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the differences of corner kicks of home and away teams. In this study, a total of 30 randomly selected matches from 2016 - 2017 Turgay Şeren Season Turkcell Super League teams were analyzed. Corner kicks used by the home and away teams in the study were examined by dividing the penalty area into 6 regions in order to find the danger zone. The differences between the direction of the corner kicks that home and away teams used (right,left),the player with whom the ball meets in the penalty area(goalkeeper, defence, striker), and the result of the attack (goal, out, corner kick, suspension, keep) parameters were studied. The matches were tallied manually and analyzed by the same researcher. For the statistical analysis of the data obtained Whitney U Test was used and to analyze the data SPSS 21,0 software was used. As a result of the study it can be inferred that there is no statistically significant difference between the direction of the corner kicks that home and away teams used (right,left), the player with whom the ball meets in the penalty area(goalkeeper, defence, striker), and the result of the attack (goal, out, corner kick, suspension, keep) parameters. Amongst the corner kicks that hit the areas 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 there is no statistically significant difference, but only the corner kicks that hit the 3rd area had a statistically significant difference for the benefit of the away team. (p < 0.05). As a result, one can suggest that the away team uses the front target zone with the largest angle more often in order to score by using a corner kick.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, ev sahibi ve deplasman takımlarının köşe vuruşlarındaki farklılıkların incelenmesidir. Bu çalışmada 2016 - 2017 Turgay Şeren Sezonu Turkcell Süper Ligi takımlarından rasgele seçilmiş toplam 30 maç analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada ev sahibi ve deplasman takımlarının kullandıkları köşe vuruşları; ceza alanı 6 bölgeye ayrılarak, tehlikeli bölgeyi bulmak amacıyla incelenmiştir. Ev sahibi takımlar ile deplasman takımlarının köşe vuruşunun kullanıldığı yön (sağ,sol), topun ceza alanında buluştuğu oyuncu (kaleci, defans, forvet) ve atak sonucu (gol, aut, köşe vuruşu, uzaklaştırma, kalecide kalma) parametreleri arasındaki faklar araştırılmıştır. Karşılaşmalar el çetelesi ile aynı araştırmacı tarafından analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerin istatistiksel analizinde Mann Whitney U Testi, verilerin çözümlenmesinde ise SPSS 21,0 programı kullanılmıştır. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda, ev sahibi takımlar ile deplasman takımlarının köşe vuruşunun kullanıldığı yön (sağ,sol), topun ceza alanında buluştuğu oyuncu (kaleci, defans, forvet) ve atak sonucu (gol, aut, köşe vuruşu, uzaklaştırma, kalecide kalma) parametreleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark yoktur (p>0.05). 1., 2., 4., 5., 6. bölgelere atılan köşe vuruşları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olmayıp, sadece 3. bölgeye atılan köşe vuruşlarında deplasman takımları lehine istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark vardır (p<0.05). Sonuç olarak deplasman takımlarının köşe vuruşundan gol bulmak için kaleyi en büyük açıyla gören ön hedef bölgeyi daha fazla kullandıklarını söyleyebiliriz.
