UTILIZATION OF FMN07 AND FGN37 MICROMONOSPORA SP. IN REGULATING THE NITROGEN LOSS DURING COMPOSTING

dc.description.abstractIsolated and purified Micromonospora sp. FMN07 and FGN37 strains were utilized in composting experiments in aminiscule system in order to determine their effects on mesophilic stage. Results indicated deceleration of organic matterdegradation in the presence of these microorganisms. This result also indicated that these microorganisms had no ornegligible activity towards cellulose degradation which was the main constituent of compost mixture. Statistical analyses andmeasurements were also conducted to determine the effects of microorganisms on nitrogen content. Result indicated anincrease in nitrogen amount in their presence. It was our belief that the activity of microorganisms effective in thermophilicstage of composting could have been increased by proper adjustment of FMN07 and FGN37 strains since nitrogen amountcrucial for microorganism growth would have been higher in their presence.
