On the Miswritings in the Xth Book of Altun Yaruk Sudur

Abstract

Altun Yaruk Sudur (Golden Light Sūtra) which has a prominent place among the old Uighur manuscripts, contributes to the vocabulary of Old Uighur with its rich vocabulary in an unquestionable way. Some words and phrases peculiar to this work proves this point and deserves to be a study subject in itself. However, the copies are not free of spelling mistakes. In the R-M publication, some of the words or phrases conveyed incorrectly or incompletely were attempted to be corrected by showing their correct form on the same page or at the revision section (pp. 709-721) at the end of the book. Some inaccuracies and deficiencies that are not included in these corrections are indicated in the footnotes of the text section of my doctoral dissertation on Altun Yaruk Xth book and are also mentioned in the explanations section. In addition, some of the misspelled parts in both the St. Petersburg manuscript and the R-M publication were corrected according to the Berlin fragments and the Chinese equivalent. In this article, the words misspelled in both St. Petersburg manuscript and R-M publication (some of these misspellings also found in Berlin fragments but some of them are in correct form) will be detected and corrected.

Eski Uygurca yazmalar içinde önemli yere sahip olan Altun Yaruk Sudur’un zengin kelime hazinesi ile Eski Uygurcanın söz varlığına sağladığı katkı tartışılmazdır. Sadece bu eserde rastlanan bazı söz ve ibareler bunu kanıtlamakta ve başlı başına bir inceleme konusu oluşturmaktadır. Fakat eserde bazı yazım yanlışları da görülmektedir. Bilindiği gibi, R-.M yayınında yanlış veya eksik aktarılan kimi söz veya ibarelerin bazıları, aynı yayının söz konusu sayfasında ya da son kısmında yer alan (709-721.sayfalar) düzelti bölümünde doğru biçimleri gösterilerek düzeltilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu düzeltilerde yer almayan kimi yanlışlıklar ve eksiklikler de Altun Yaruk X. kitabı ele aldığım doktora tezimin metin kısmında dipnotlarla gösterilmiş, açıklamalar kısmında da değinilmiştir. Bütün bunların dışında St. Petersburg yazması ve bunu takiben R-M yayınında da yanlış yazılan bazı kısımlar Berlin fragmanlarına ve Çince metne göre düzeltilmiştir. Bu yazımda hem St. Petersburg yazmasında hem R-M yayınında görülen yazım yanlışları (bunlardan bazılarının doğru şekilleri Berlin fragmanlarında korunmuşken bazıları ise eksiktir) tespit edilip düzeltilmeye çalışılacaktır.
