Bozüyük kent halkının COVID-19 pandemi sürecinde rekreasyonel eğilim ve taleplerindeki değişim

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı Bilecik ilinin Bozüyük ilçesinde yaşayan yerel halkın COVID-19 pandemi sürecinde rekreasyonel eğilim ve taleplerindeki değişimi ortaya çıkarmaktır. Çalışma pandemi sürecinin Bozüyük kent halkının boş zaman aktivite tercihlerini nasıl etkilediğini ortaya çıkarması bakımından önemlidir. Çalışma alanı Bozüyük şehridir. Çalışmada nicel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma amacı bakımından tanımlayıcı ve açıklayıcı özellikte bir araştırmadır. Bozüyük Şehri’nde yaşayan yerel halkın COVID-19 pandemi sürecinde rekreasyonel eğilim ve taleplerindeki değişimi araştırmak amacıyla, birincil verilerin toplanmasında anket tekniği ile veriler toplanmıştır. Anketin ilk bölümünde kişisel bilgileri ölçmeye yönelik sorular yer almaktadır. Ayrıca ilk bölümde Bozüyük kent algısı ve boş zamanları değerlendirme davranışlarına yönelik sorular yer almaktadır. Anketin ilk bölümünde yer alan sorular kapalı uçludur. Anketin ikinci bölümünde ise Bozüyük'te yaşayan yerel halkın COVID-19 pandemi sürecinde ve sonrasında rekreasyonel beklenti ve taleplerini ölçmeye yönelik sorular yer almaktadır. Bu bölümdeki sorular likert tipi ölçeğe göre oluşturulmuştur. Araştırma alanı olan Bozüyük şehrinde 2019 yılında 75.566 kişi ikamet etmektedir. Araştırma evreni Bozüyük şehrinde ikamet eden yerel halktır. Örneklem büyüklüğü ±%10 örnekleme hatası ile (n) 96 kişidir. Araştırma kapsamında 2021 Ocak ayında kolayda örneklem yöntemi ile belirlenmiş 117 kişiye çevrimiçi anket uygulanmıştır. Çevrimiçi anketler Google form ile düzenlenmiştir. Toplanan verilerin analiz edilmesinde, IBM SPSS Statistics 22 istatistik analiz programı kullanılmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde frekans, yüzde dağılımları, ortalama ve standart sapma değerleri kullanılmıştır. COVID-19 pandemisinin yarattığı riskler insanların boş zamanlarını kimlerle geçireceği tercihlerini etkilemiştir. Pandemi dönemi insanların dışarda geçirmekte olduğu zaman dilimini kısaltmıştır. Bu yüzden kısa mesafede ulaşabilecekleri rekreasyon alanlarının önemi artmıştır. Katılımcılar Bozüyük ilçesinde var olan rekreasyon alanlarının yetersiz olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Anketlerden elde edilen sonuçlara göre, COVID-19 pandemi sürecinde katılımcıların, kapalı alanlarda gerçekleştirilen rekreatif faaliyetlere olan talepleri azalmıştır. Pandemi sürecinde katılımcılar daha çok açık alanlarda gerçekleştirilen; piknik yapma vb. gibi aktivitelere yöneldiklerini belirtmişlerdir. Katılımcılar pandemi öncesi dönemde Eskişehir ve Bursa gibi yakın şehirlerde rekreatif etkinliklerde bulunduklarını belirtmişlerdir. Pandemi öncesi dönemde bu şehirlerde; alışveriş yapmak, mesire alanlarında vakit geçirmek ve kafe ve restoranlara gitmek gibi etkinliklerde bulunduklarını belirtmişlerdir. Katılımcılar pandemi sürecinin diğer şehirlere gitme sıklıklarını etkilediğini belirtmiştir. Pandemi öncesi dönemde rekreasyonel amaçlarla, ağırlıklı olarak iki haftada gidilen diğer şehirler pandemi döneminde daha az tercih edilmiştir. Katılımcılar pandemi öncesinde olduğu gibi pandemi sürecinde de alışveriş yapmak ve mesire alanlarında vakit geçirmek için farklı illere gittiklerini belirtmişlerdir. Katılımcılara göre, Bozüyük şehrinde en çok ihtiyaç duyulan rekreasyonel alanlar sırasıyla; sinema ve kent parkları, kent içi yeşil alanlardır. Bozüyük şehrinde rekreasyonel açık ve kapalı alan rekreasyonel alanlarının arttırılması, kentteki ekonomik arzın artmasını sağlayacaktır ayrıca kentte yaşayan sakinler için sosyal ve psikolojik faydalar sağlayacaktır.

The aim of this study is to reveal the changes in the recreational tendencies and demands of the residents who living in Bozüyük district of Bilecik province during the COVID-19 pandemic period. The study is important in terms of revealing how the pandemic period affects the leisure activities preferences of the Bozüyük city residents. The study area is Bozüyük city. Quantitative research method has been used in the study. It is a descriptive and explanatory research in terms of research purpose. In order to investigate the change in the recreational trends and demands of the Bozüyük residents during the COVID-19 pandemic period, survey technique has been used to collection of primary data. In the first part of the questionnaire, there are questions to measure personal information. Also, in the first part of the questionnaire there are questions about Bozüyük city perception and leisure time behaviors. The questions which in the first part of the questionnaire are closed-ended. In the second part of the survey, there are questions to measure the recreational expectations and demands of the Bozüyük residents during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The questions in this section has been consist of according to the Likert type scale. In Bozüyük city which is the research area 75.566 people reside in 2019. The population of the research is the local people residing in Bozüyük city. The sample size is (n) 96 individuals with a sampling error of ±10%. Within the scope of the research, an online questionnaire has been applied to 117 people determined by convenience sampling method in January 2021. Online surveys are organized with Google form. IBM SPSS Statistics 22 statistical analysis program has been used to analyze the collected data. Frequency, percentage distributions, mean and standard deviation values has been used in the analysis of the data. The risks created by the COVID-19 pandemic have affected people's choices with whom to spend their leisure time. The pandemic period has shortened the time period that people spend outside. Therefore, shorter distance recreational areas importance has increased. Participants stated that the existing recreation areas in Bozüyük district are insufficient. According to the results of the surveys, the demands of the participants for recreational activities at the indoor areas has been decreased during the COVID-19 pandemic period. During the pandemic period, the participants state that they have been preferred activities which performed in outdoor areas such as picnic, etc. Participants stated that they have been engaged in recreational activities in nearby cities such as Eskişehir and Bursa in the pre-pandemic period. In these cities at the pre-pandemic period, they stated that they engage in activities such as shopping, spending time in recreation areas and going to cafes and restaurants. Participants have stated that the pandemic period affected the frequency of going to other cities. In the pre-pandemic period, other cities where mainly have visited in two weeks for recreational purposes, during the pandemic period this visitation frequances have decreased. Participants have stated that they visit to different provinces to shopping and spend time in recreation areas during the pandemic, as they did before the pandemic. According to the participants, the most required recreational areas in Bozüyük city are respectively; cinemas, city parks and urban green spaces. Increasing the recreational indoor and outdoor recreational areas in Bozüyük city is going to increase the economic supply in the city and also provide social and psychological benefits for the residents living in the city.
