Zinc oxide (ZnO) is a great material and many studies have been done on it to obtain various forms such as nanowires nanorods, nanoparticles, etc. These forms of the ZnO can be employed in various applications as pristine and compose or hybrid other materials. The ZnO and silicon can be combined as hybrid nanostructures, and they have good potential for use in various applications, such as light-emitting diodes, red-green-blue screens, solar cells, etc. as combined forms. In this chapter, the ZnO and silicon hybrid structures are discussed according to their synthesis, various properties, and applications. The structural, electrical, and optical properties of the silicon-ZnO hybrid nanostructures were explained in detail. © 2022 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
