The meaning of vandalism is damaging the public property or someone else's property intentionally. Urban design studies focused on vandalism are widely used approaches in crime prevention. Crime prevention through design aims to reduce environmental destruction and to create safe spaces for all. This study focuses on urban design studies for the prevention of vandalism. Within the scope of the study, urban design approaches to prevent crime are examined theoretically with various dimensions. In addition, the difficulties to be experienced while applying the theory are mentioned. © Peter Lang AG 2020.
