Özet
Environmental contamination with different pollutants, especially fungicides and herbicides, is an essential concern on a worldwide scale and the risk concerned with exposure to contaminants present in soil, air, water is acknowledged as an important threat to human health and other living things because of their bioaccumulation. To avoid these hazards, monitoring of these pollutants in environmental, industrial, and biomedical analyses, by using cost-effective and portable instruments, has become an important field of increasing interest over the past decade. Electrochemical methods have been employed in recent years for analysis of environmental, biological, and pharmaceutical compounds because of their fast response, accuracy, sensitivity, simplicity, low-cost, and high dynamic range. Currently, analyzing techniques based on electrochemical methods offer important advantages for the determination of fungicides and herbicides in the different sample matrices. This chapter highlights the progress in determination of fungicide and herbicides using electroanalytical methods and points towards the problems and required endeavors to reach electrochemical detection appropriate for on-site implementations. © IOP Publishing Ltd 2024.
