Özet

The utilization of CO2 by converting it into different products is a very important and remerkable research area because of CO2s harmful environmental effects. In this study, the natural zeolite was impregnated with nickel, which is known for its effectiveness in catalytic hydrogenation reactions. The prepared 15%Ni/Zeo catalyst was characterized by XRF, XRD, FT-IR, SEM and TGA techniques. The activity of catalyst was investigated in the CO2 methanation. Catalytic activity studies were performed by a Microactivity Effi reactor system. The catalyst was reduced in-situ with H2 for 1 hour at 400°C before the reaction. The H2/CO2 molar ratio was set to 4. The experimental studies were carried out at atmospheric pressure and the temperatures of 300, 400, 500 and 600°C. 15%Ni/Zeo is the most effective in CO2 methanation at 400°C with 66.36% CO2 conversion and 99.33% CH4 selectivity. Characterization studies and catalytic activity results showed that zeolite is a suitable support for CO2 methanation.
