Okul Öncesi Öğretmenlerinin Çocuk İstismarına Yönelik Farkındalık Düzeyinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

This research is to assess the competence of preschool teachers on recognizing child abuse. Quantitative screening model was used in the research. At the time of the survey there were 138 preschool teachers working under the authority of Turkish Ministry of Education in Bilecik. The study analysed the answers given by 119 of those preschool teachers. The 'Teacher Survey Form' scale, which which is designed to assess the level of awareness of preschool teachers about child abuse, was applied as a data collection tool. Data collection “teachers’ questionnaire form” on child abuse. The research data was analyzed in SPSS 20 programme with methods such as; t-test, one-way anova, percentage, frequencies and arithmetic mean. The results show that while participants were able to fully recognize the physical abuse, they were partly able to recognize some of the symptoms and signs of emotional and sexual abuse. 98.3% of the teachers think that they are responsible for reporting any suspicion of child abuse to the necessary authorities. According to the analysis results, the mean scores of female teachers' reporting processes were found to be significantly higher than the mean scores of male teachers’.

Çalışma okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin istismarı tanıma konusundaki yeterliliklerinin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada nicel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırma 2016-2017 eğitim-öğretim yılında Bilecik merkez ve ilçelerinde Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı okul öncesi kurumlarında görev yapan 138 okul öncesi öğretmeninden çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 119’u ile çalışma tamamlanmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin çocuk istismarına yönelik farkındalıklarının belirlenmesi amacıyla geliştirilen ‘Öğretmen Anket Formu’ ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin değerlendirilmesi bilgisayar ortamında SPSS 20 programında t testi, tek yönlü Anova, yüzde, frekanslar ve aritmetik ortalama istatistiksel analiz yöntemleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda katılımcılar çocuklara uygulanan fiziksel istismarı tamamen tanıma yetisine sahipken duygusal ve cinsel istismar belirtilerini tanımada bazı belirtileri tanıyabiliyorken bazı belirtileri kısmen tanıdıkları belirlenmiştir. Öğretmenlerin %98,3’ü çocuk istismarından şüphelenildiği durumlarda bu durumun gerekli mercilere bildirilmesi konusunda kendilerinin sorumlu olduklarını düşünmektedirler. Analiz sonuçlarına göre kadın öğretmenlerin raporlama süreçleri puan ortalaması erkek öğretmenlerin raporlama süreçleri puan ortalamalarından anlamlı derecede daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir.
