DIŞ TİCARETTE LOJİSTİK PERFORMANSIN ETKİSİ

Abstract

Küreselleşme ve artan rekabet ortamı ile birlikte lojistik, uluslararası ticaretin en önemli unsurlarından birisi haline gelmiş ve bir ticaret kolaylaştırıcısı olarak ticaret hacminin ve dolayısıyla da iktisadi büyüme için uluslararası lojistiğin önemi, literatürde çokça tartışılan başlıklardan birisi olmuştur. Bu çerçevede mevcut çalışmanın temel amacı, Dünya Bankası tarafından oluşturulan Lojistik Performans İndeksi’ne (LPI) ilişkin 2007-2018 dönemi verileri ve statik panel veri analizi kullanılarak lojistik performansının ihracat ve ithalat hacmi üzerindeki etkisini ortaya koymaktır. Ampirik bulgular, lojistik performansın hem OECD ülkelerinde hem de düşük-orta gelirli ülkelerde ihracatı olumlu yönde etkilediğini göstermektedir. Buna karşılık lojistik performansın her iki ülke grubu için de ithalatı etkilediğine dair bir bulgu elde edilememiştir.

Logistics has become one of the most critical elements of international trade as a result of globalization and increasing competition, and the importance of international logistics as a trade facilitator for the growth of trade and thus for economic growth has been among the most discussed topics in the literature. In this context, the primary purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of logistics performance on export and import volume using data on the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI) for the period 2007-2018 and static panel data analysis. The empirical evidence suggests that logistics performance positively affects exports both in the OECD countries and low-middle-income countries. On the other hand, logistics performance does not seem to affect both country groups' imports.
