dc.description.abstractAlzheimer’s is a disease related to the nervous system known to produce nonreversible degeneration of cognitive functions. It is currently among the leading causes of death for people 65 and older. However, no effective treatment strategy has been found to overcome Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Various scientific research studies have revealed that berberine has a significant role in the prevention and management of AD by exhibiting neuroprotective activity via antioxidant, antiapoptotic, antiinflammatory, anticholinesterase, and antiamyloidogenic effects. © 2021 Elsevier Inc.
