Estimation of coal import years in Turkey with multiple linear regression analysis

Abstract

Coal is one of the important energy sources in the world. The coal import prices in Turkey are increasing these days. The estimation of import year by using the import prices is a very important. In this study, the import years were estimated by applying the multiple linear regression analysis and prediction model was developed. After, the developed model was verified statistical test. The R-2 and adjusted R-2 for model are calculated that 96.9% and 94.4%, respectively. Finally, it was concluded that import years can reliably be estimated by using the multiple linear regression model. Finally, this paper presented that the beneficial of multiple linear regression model for estimation of import years and helps to improve energy issues.
