Kuva-yı Seyyare

Abstract

Milli Mücadele tarihi boyunca hakkında en çok tartışma konusu açılan kişiliklerden birisi olan Çerkez Ethem, kurmuş olduğu Kuva-yı Seyyare ile dönem içinde yapmış olduğu eylemler ve icraatlardan dolayı adından çokça bahsettirmiştir. Davasına Milli Mücadele yanında başlayan Çerkez Ethem’in nasıl ve hangi sebeplerle bu mücadelenin karşısına geçmiş olduğu üzerinde birçok tartışma ve değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Bu konuda yapılan tartışmalarda Çerkez Ethem olayının, isyan mı yoksa bir ayrılık mı olduğu hususu hala gündemdeki yerini korumaktadır. Bu çalışmada ilk Kuva-yı Milliye teşkilatları içinde yer alan; Çerkez Ethem’in Salihli cephesinde kurmuş olduğu Kuva-yı Seyyare birliklerinin kuruluşu, teşkilat yapısı, malî ve askerî teçhizat kaynakları üzerinde durulmuş; Milli Mücadele dönemindeki faaliyetleri, bölgede üstlenmiş olduğu vazifeler, Milli Mücadele ile ters düşmesi ve akabinde gelişen süreçler ele alınmaya çalışılmıştır.

Cherkes Ethem, whose name was most discussed throughout the history of the War of Independence, and the Planetary Forces he has established were, together with his acts and operations during the era, most often mentioned therefore. Many discussions were held and assessments made as to why and how Cherkes Ethem, who had started his cause standing next to the national struggle, came to stand against such struggle. Discussions held in this topic as to whether the Cherkes Ethem incident was an uprising or a dissention still hold their place on the agenda. In this study, the establishment of Cherkes Ethem’s Planetary Forces as present within the national struggle organizations in the Salihli area, their organizational structure, financial and military equipment forces have been stressed. Its actions during the War of Independence era, the duties it had assumed in the region have been focused on, while his opposition with the National Struggle and the processes which have developed pursuantly have been taken up.
