Tripod cooking pots, one of the significant form groups in Western Anatolia in the Early Bronze Age, contribute not only to reconstruct the early cooking traditions, they also are among the key form groups in comparison the Early Bronze Age stratigraphies. While these pots are common in coastal regions from the beginnings of the Early Bronze Age on, they occur for the first time in inland north-western Anatolia in the Late Early Bronze Age II. In the coastal western Anatolia, related to the occurence of ovens, tripod cooking pots almost disappeared and globular cooking pots replaced them at the beginning of the Late Early Bronze III. However, the use of tripods in cooking have been continued in several types and varieties, even they are stil in use in present.
