Comparison of QR code and standard training models in heel prick blood collection in newborns: A quasiexperimental study

Abstract

ABSTRACT Admission and Objective; Comparison of the effectiveness of QR codes and standard training models regarding newborn heel prick blood collection on senior nursing students. Material and Method; The study, conducted between February and March 2023, includes a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest matched control group; The data was collected with Nursing students. The sample of the study consisted of 97 participants. Socio-demographic information form and “Self-Reported Heel Blood Collection, Knowledge and Practices Scale” were used during the data collection process. Descriptive statistical analysis, chi-square analysis, independent t test and dependent t test were used to evaluate the research data. Results and Coclusion; The average age of the participants was determined as 22.61±2.28 years.
