dc.description.abstractSlavery is one of the oldest institutions in human history. Due to various reasons, people that becoming slaves were sold to wealthy persons by slave traders. These slaves became of property their owners and they had worked in industry and other sectors. Number of slaves who worked in the field of industy was not too much in early Islamic period. But especially they were used intensively in public works. In this article, status of slaves will be discussed in early Islamic period. Besides, the paper will focus on the identification and opinions on the subject of Iraqi historian Ahmed Salih al-Ali.
