Abstract

ANTHONY GIDDENS’IN POLİTİK FELSEFESİ Hasan ERYÜRÜK Bu metin, temel olarak politik felsefe odaklı bir çalışmadır. Çalışmanın eksen kişisi İngiliz sosyal bilimcisi, daha özel olarak sosyologu Anthony Giddens’tır. Giddens 1938 yılında İngiltere’de doğan ve bu çalışmanın yapıldığı zaman itibarıyla da yazmaya; üretmeye; alanında ortaya yeni verimler koymaya devam eden bir akademisyendir. Giddens’ın başlıca temel ilgisi, yukarıda da değinildiğince sosyoloji olmakla beraber, yazarın inter-disipliner bir bakış açısına sahip olması dolayısıyla, toplum-odaklı sosyolojiden, piyasa/pazar-odaklı iktisat alanına ve devlet/iktidar odaklı siyaset bilimi (politik bilim) alanına da girdiği görülmektedir. Başka bir söyleyişle Giddens, diğer alanlardan yanıtlanmış bir sosyolojiden çok, öncelikle öteki sosyal bilim dalları olmak üzere, insani-toplumsal bilginin hemen her alanına açılan bir güzergâhta üretmektedir. Bu nedenle yazarın politik felsefesi üzerinde de durmak anlamlı olacaktır. Nitekim bu çalışma da, giriş cümlesinde de belirtildiğince onun politik felsefesini temel eksen olarak almaktadır. Çalışma, üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. İlk bölümde yazarın biyografisi, eserleri ve genel düşünce yapısı gibi konulara yer verilmekte, ardından kavramsal ve tarihsel belirlemelere geçilmektedir. İkinci bölüm de Giddens’ın devlet tasavvuru ele alınmaktadır. Devlet-eksenli bu çözümlemede devlet yanı sıra iktidar, güç, egemenlik, refah gibi devletle yakından alakalı temalara da yer verilmektedir. Üçüncü bölümde Giddens’ın politik felsefesinde devlet dışında yer alan, başta modernlik, küreselleşme ve siyasal ideolojiler olmak üzere diğer politik felsefi belirlemeler yer almaktadır. Çalışma, bu üç bölümün ardından gelen sonuç bölümüyle sona ermektedir.
