Özet

Phenolic compounds widely exist in human life and nature. These compounds are recalcitrant to degradation and therefore persistent in environmental matrices such as soil, air, and water. Because of the potential environmental hazardous effects and detrimental health problems of phenol and its derivatives necessitate the sensitive and rapid in situ detections of these compounds are significant for health and environmental issue. Different analytical techniques are available for the detection and quantification of phenol and its derivatives in various samples based on chromatography and spectrometry, which are complex, expensive, and time-consuming methods. In recent years, electrochemical methods are rapid, selective, sensitive, and easy analytical methods; additionally, they have very low determination and detection limits for phenolic compounds. Therefore, in this chapter, the latest progress in electrochemical methods based on carbon nanotubes modified glassy carbon electrodes for phenol and phenolic compounds determination over the last 10 years have been presented in important areas such as environmental pollution, clinical, biomedical, and industrial analysis. © 2023 Elsevier Inc.
