Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilköğretim kademesine devam eden 8 yaş grubu öğrencilerine uygulanan hareket eğitimi programının dikkat ve görsel bellek gelişimine etkisini incelemektir. Çalışmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ön test-son test kontrol gruplu deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırma grubunu Bursa ili, Nilüfer ilçesinde bulunan Ahmet Uyar İlköğretim Okulunda öğrenim gören 69 kız ve 54 erkek öğrenci toplam 123 ikinci sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Müdahale grubunda 34 kız ve 24 erkek bulunurken kontrol grubunda 35 kız, 30 erkek yer almaktadır. Veri toplama sürecinde, aile bilgilendirme formu, Burdon dikkat ve Benton görsel bellek testi kullanılmıştır. Verilerin normal dağılmadığı belirlenmiş olup, non-parametrik testlerden Mann-Whitney U ve Wilcoxon İşaretli Sıralar testleri kullanılmış; frekans, yüzde, ortalama, etki büyüklüğü değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda 6 hafta boyunca uygulanan hareket eğitimi programının; kontrol grubundaki öğrencilerin dikkat (p= .043, d=0.25, %1,96) ve görsel bellek (p= .009, d= 0.32, %5.21) gelişimine kıyasla, müdahale grubundaki öğrencilerin dikkat (p<.001, d=0.70, %26.68) ve görsel (p<.001, d=0.79, %23.30) gelişimini yüksek düzeyde ve anlamlı şekilde arttırdığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu durumda, uygulanan hareket eğitimi programının ilköğretim ikinci sınıf öğrencilerinde dikkat ve görsel bellek becerilerini geliştirmede son derece etkili olduğu ortaya konmuştur.
The aim of this study is to examine the effect of a motor skills training program administered to 8 years old pupils in primary education on the development of attention and visual memory. The study employed the 'pretest – posttest controlled experimental design' one of the quantitative research methods. The research group consists of a total of 123 year 2 pupils 69 girls and 54 boys attending Ahmet Uyar Primary School in the Nilüfer district of Bursa province. The intervention group comprises 34 girls and 24 boys, whilst the control group comprises 35 girls and 30 boys. During the data collection process, a parent information form, the Burdon attention test and the Benton visual memory test were used. As the data were found not to be normally distributed, the nonparametric Mann-Whitney U and Wilcoxon Signed-Rank tests were employed, frequency, percentage, mean and effect size values were calculated. The results of the study revealed that the 6-week movement training program significantly and substantially enhanced the development of attention (p<.001, d= 0.70, %26.68) and visual memory (p<.001, d= 0.79, %23.30) among students in the intervention group, compared to the attention (p=.043, d= 0.25, %1.96) and visual memory (p= .009, d= 0.32, %5.21) development of students in the control group. This finding demonstrates that the movement training program was highly effective in developing attention and visual memory skills in second year primary school pupils.
